Ukraine's rapeseed harvest anticipated lowest in 4 years: analysts
The bulk yield of rapeseed in Ukraine in 2021 is expected to be around 2.4-2.5 mln t, 6% down from last year's harvest and could be the lowest for the last four seasons, the APK-Inform consultancy reports.
"The decline in crop production is caused by a decrease in the sown area (-21%), but will be offset to some extent by an expected increase in yields (+11%)," analysts argue.
With the country's rapeseed production prospects weakening this year, its export potential in 2021/22 could be around 2.2 mln t (-9% on 2020/21).
