Vegetable oils production in August below previous year's
August unrefined vegetable oil production in Ukraine was 13% down YoY, the consulting agency UkrAgroConsult reports. Crude vegetable oils production trends in segments:
- sunflower oil:▼44%
- soybean oil: flat YoY
- rapeseed oil:▲70%
Refined sunflower oil production in August reduced by 24% YoY.

Unrefined vegetable oils' seasonal reduction made up 20%, including:
- sunflower oil:▼ 21%
- soybean oil:▼26%
However, crude rapeseed oil output added 48% in the reporting period.
Since the start of the 2021/22 season, refined sunflower oil production in Ukraine has gone down by 20%.
China imported 1.08 mln t of Ukrainian sunflower oil in 2020/21.
The USDA in its September report projects the world sunflowerseeds production in 2021/22 at 56.97 mln t, 14% up YoY. Rapeseed production is forecast at 68.17 mln t, 5% down YoY; soybean projection is at 384.42 mln t, 6% below 2020/21.
Sunflower harvesting in Ukraine as of 30 September progressed to 42% of the projected area, soybean was 28% harvested. New crop rapeseed bulk yield in the 2021 crop year totalled 2.9 mln t.
