Grain export 2022/23: commodities shipment 52% behind last season's

Staple grains export shipment from Ukraine since the start of the 2022/23(1 July 2022-30 June 2023) season has come to 2.988 mln t. As reported by the Agrarian Ministry, commodities shipment as of August 19 dropped by 3.189 mln t, 51.6% down YoY.

Maritime ports of Ukraine were blocked by russia since February 24, 2022, the day this country started a full-scale war against Ukraine, until on 22 July a grain deal was signed in Turkey.

As of August 18, early crops harvesting in Ukraine was completed on 6.1 mln ha (55% of the proj. areas).
Producers collected 23.4 mln t of new crop grain:
- wheat: 17.4 mln t, 4.04 t/ha
- barley: 5.3 mln t, 3.45 t/ha
- rapeseed: 3.1 mln t, 2.84 t/ha
- peas: 243.7 thou. t, 2.26 t/ha
- millet: 7.7 thou. t, 2.39 t/ha
