Sunflower oil market in Ukraine is dominated by 2 major producers — AMCU

The market of refined bottled sunflower oil in Ukraine is oligopolistic with the dominance of the two main producers.
According to the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU), the market share of the company Kernel is 35%, while Suntrade (Bunge) holds 21% of the market.
"About 173 companies are engaged in the production of unrefined sunflower oil, the main ones being Cargill, Macoli, Oil House, Sunflower, Fortune, and Veles Trading. The refined sunflower market is represented by approximately 27 companies, among them are Kernel, Suntrade, Viktor & K, Oliyar, Delta Wilmar CIS and others," the report says.
The Committee monitors the activities of market participants or compliance with the requirements of the legislation on the protection of economic competition.
According to the results of the study, AMCU plans to conduct a detailed analysis of the pricing by the largest participants in the sale of products to trade networks.
