Ukrainian poultry products admitted to another export market

Ukraine and Jordan, a country in Western Asia, agreed on a form of a veterinary certificate for meat, offal and other poultry products exported from Ukraine to Jordan, the SSUFSCP reports.

The certificate determines the permanent zoning of the territory of Ukraine for continuous trade in poultry products even in case of outbreaks of avian influenza (bird flu).

"We have settled one of the problems Ukrainian poultry exporters had by agreeing on a new certificate with Jordan. The new agreement brings practical outcome: Ukrainian companies and Jordanian consumers can be sure of an uninterrupted supply of products from Ukraine," Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba marks.

The document is the fifth export certificate Ukraine and Jordan have agreed upon lately. Earlier, the competent authorities of both countries agreed on the forms of certificates for the export of chilled, frozen beef, chilled ovine, cattle and sheep for slaughter from Ukraine.

"The Jordanian market is an important market for poultry exporters from Ukraine. Now they have gained new opportunities in it. This decision is good news for all our poultry producers," adds Vladyslava Magaletska, head of SSUFSCP.

In late June, Jordan dropped restrictions for poultry products import from Ukraine.

Chicken meat export from Ukraine in 2020 totalled 431 thou. t worth USD 555 mln, a new record for the country.
