Grain export 2021/22: commodities supply from Ukraine crosses 26 mln t

Staple grains export shipment from Ukraine since the start of the 2021/22(1 July 2021-30 June 2022) season has reached 26.07 mln t. As reported by the Agrarian Ministry, commodities shipment as of 6 December increased by 3.78 mln t, 17% up YoY (6 Dec. 2020: 22.3 mln t).

As a reminder, wheat export from Ukraine in 2021/22 was limited to 25.3 mln t. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the Agrarian Ministry and grain market participants.

The new crop progress in Ukraine as of 25 November came to 79.73 mln t of grains and legumes on 15.2 mln ha. The average yield made up 5.25 t/ha.

Agricultural commodities formed 45% of the total structure of Ukraine's exports in 2020. Europe imported 32.4% of products shipped.

Wheat export from Ukraine in 2021/22 is projected by the USDA in its November report at 24 mln t, 0.5 mln t above the previous report. Corn outlook for Ukraine was left unchanged by the USDA analysts, exports should reach 31.5 mln t in 2021/22.

Egypt's GASC made a sizable wheat purchase in the latest tender. The country's state grain buyer booked Romanian, Russian and Ukrainian wheat.
