19 March 2021, 10:15
In the first 6 months of 2020/21(September-August), sunflower oil export from Ukraine dropped by 2% YoY, UkrAgroConsult reports.
"A reduction in exports is expected in the second half of the season as a result of lower sunflower production and thus lower processing volume," analysts comment.
The largest importing countries:
- China: +93%, the country stepped down as the key importer
- India: –10%
- EU: –22%
South Korea, Egypt and Saudi Arabia intensified purchases of Ukrainian sunoil in the reporting period.
Analysts noted that Poland, Spain and Iraq reduced their procurement volume.
Mid-last week, crude sunflower oil export prices from Ukraine reached 1700 USD/t FOB. On March 17, oilseed prices fell sharply after reaching record levels at the end of last week.
