Sunflowerseed products formed 96% of Ukraine's oilseeds export in June

In the period June 1-30, sea ports of Ukraine provided for export of 499.3 thou. t of oilseeds and oilseed products, 1.4x down from the volume exported in May (688 thou. t as per the figures updated), the APK-Inform consultancy reports.
The bulk of exports in June was formed by the shipments of sunflower products, totalling 480.5 thou. t. Sunflower oil export made up 290.4 thou. t, 1.6x down mth/mth. The volume of sunflower meal shipment fell by 2.5% compared to May and amounted to 190 thou. t. No shipments of seeds were made in the reporting period.
Soybean export in June summed 18.8 thou. t, 19.6% up from May shipment. Soybean products were not exported in June, whereas in May soybean meal export amounted to 10 thou. t.
Rapeseed and products were not exported in March-June.
Key export markets for Ukrainian oilseeds and oilseed products in June:
- China: 124.9 thou. t
- France: 68.6 thou. t
- India: 53.5 thou. t
Since the start of 2020/21, the port of Mykolaiv has provided for the transshipment of 4.5 mln t of oilseeds and oilseed products. The ports of Chornomorsk and Pivdenny handled 2.27 and 1.35 mln t, respectively.
In its July report, the USDA projects the world soybean production at 385.22 mln t in 2021/22, export at 172.85 mln t. Sunflower production projection for 2021/22 was improved to 56.99 mln t, sunflowerseed oil output was revised upward to 21.79 mln t.
In September-June 2020/21, sunflowerseed oil production in Ukraine reached 4.75 mln t.
