Sunflowerseed stocks plunged 38% YoY by May 1: state statistics
As of May 1, sunflower stocks stood at 2.02 mln t (May 1, 2020: 3.25 mln t) or 38% lower, including 958.6 thou. t stored by agricultural producers, and 1.06 mln t at enterprises engaged in storage and processing, the State Statistics Service data show.
Grains and pulses stocks in Ukraine as of May 1 increased to 9.5 mln t, 2% or 186.8 thou. t up YoY (May 1, 2020: 9.35 mln t).
Soybean stocks in Ukraine grew by 4% YoY to 598.4 thou. t. On the reporting date last year, soybean stocks totalled 575.9 thou. t. Agricultural enterprises stored 406.2 thou. t. Enterprises specializing in processing and storage kept 192.2 thou. t of the oilseed crop.
Rapeseed stocks reduced by 40% to 51.5 thou. t (May 1, 2020: 85.7 thou. t): 7.1 thou. t at specialized storage facilities and 44.4 thou. t at agricultural producers' storages.
Wheat stocks as of the reporting date remained at the previous year's level. At the enterprises engaged in storage and processing, grain reserves amounted to 957 thou. t, and at agricultural producers' facilities 2.01 mln t.
Under the statistical data, corn stocks were 0.04% up from last year's and amounted to 5.43 mln t (May 1, 2020: 5.2 mln t), including 3.06 mln t accumulated by agricultural producers, at enterprises engaged in storage and processing 2.37 mln t.
Barley stocks in Ukraine in the reporting period reduced by 37% from last year's and amounted to 608.9 thou. t: at the enterprises engaged in storage and processing, stocks of barley amounted to 199.4 thou. t, and at agricultural producers' facilities 409.5 thou. t.
Rye stocks grew by 2.2x and made up 135.7 thou. t: 68.7 thou. t at specialized storage facilities and 67 thou. t at agricultural producers' storages.
As of December 14, 2020, agriproducers in Ukraine harvested 83.8 mln t of main crops on 24.1 mln ha, of which grains and legumes total 65.4 mln t harvested on 15.3 mln ha, making up 99% of the planned areas.
In its May report, USDA projects a 14.08% growth in wheat production 2021/21 in Ukraine.
