Grain export 2021/22: wheat export supply from Ukraine 31% up YoY
Staple grains export shipment from Ukraine since the start of the 2021/22(1 July 2021-30 June 2022) season has crossed 39.2 mln t. As reported by the Agrarian Ministry, commodities shipment as of Feb. 7 increased by 9.68 mln t, 32% up YoY (Feb. 7, 2020: 29.5 mln t).

As a reminder, wheat export from Ukraine in 2021/22 was limited to 25.3 mln t. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the Agrarian Ministry and grain market participants. The Government also considers milling wheat export from the country. The decision was reported to be taken in January, but it has not happened yet.

The new crop progress in Ukraine as of 20 December came to 84.17 mln t of grains and legumes on 15.71 mln ha. The average yield made up 5.36 t/ha.

The USDA in its January report left unaltered its projections for wheat production and export from Ukraine in 2021/22. Both production and exports of corn from Ukraine were revised upward.
Previously reported that grains export from Ukraine in 12M 2021 totalled 50.8 mln t. China, Egypt and Turkey are the largest markets in the period.
